Late Night Photo Shoot

So my friends and I decided to stay in Viterbo after we came back from our orientation because we had to find all 11 fountains in the city and take pictures in front of them for our project. I have never stayed in Viterbo after 19:00 and it was quite interesting. People were definitely staring at us because not only are there a few people out on the streets late at night, but also we were talking (to them, it's considered shouting) in English. Although there were some moments when I felt uncomfortable (and some did not dare to walk down the alleys necessary to find some fountains, we made it to all eleven!

There were some places where there were music parties happening out in the piazza. In contrast, there were many piazzas that were completely desolated. There was one gelateria with its lights on, and the scene looked like it could be from a horror movie. (**cue the flickering lights and scary music...)

But overall, I have to say that Italy is safer than the States. Also, because the city is much smaller than its American counterpart, we were able to visit all 11 fountains (without knowing directions) rather quickly, while encountering 3 different groups of SYA kids. What a small city!

Here are some highlights from our late night photo shoot - enjoy :)
