You know, living in a foreign country is quite liberating.
I am not saying that it is easy; actually, it is exactly the oppositie of easy. Despite the difficulties, however, the fact that I am considered "foreign" allows me do so many things.
Today, Alex (my friend) and I played Beyoncé at our bus stop and sang our hearts out. People were staring, yes, because here there are two Americans singing Beyoncé out loud. They probably judged and made some rude comments to themselves, but the thing is, I don't care whether they talked behind my back or not. In fact, I cannot care - I don't understand what they are saying!!
So yeah, that is how Alex and I liberated our inner Beyoncés. And I will continue to do so because I am who I am and I am proud of that.
