Yesterday, we went to Cerveteri, a town with a significant amount of Etruscan tombs and artifacts that have been and are yet to be discovered. The homework that we had to do in preparation for this day trip was cumbersome; it required us to watch 5 videos all in Italian and answer questions in Italian! But the trip itself was quite pleasant.
The museum we went to was very cool. It had an interactive touch screen, so I had too much fun with that. (You choose a language and you "touch" the artifact you want to learn about, and someone will narrate the story in your choice of language!)
We not only visited the museum but also went to the necropolis, with tombs that dated back to 800 BC. Crazy, right? Well, that's the reality of Italy, I guess. Apparently, 6% of UNESCO cultural heritage sites/customs are Italian. That comes with "a huge responsibility," as our Art History teacher said.
Below are some photos of the highlights of our trip to Cerveteri!
