Rimani Qua

So as you guys may know, I, with a group of SYA students, teach English to little bambini at a local elementary school. Anyway, in a previous post, I have mentioned Antonio, the most mature and intellegent kid in the classroom. Today, he voluntarily took a quiz because he wanted to prove to us that he studied. We all thought that was adorable.

Now, there is another kid that I think I like more than Antonio. Well, don't get me wrong - Antonio is still great. But he has a little brother named Alessandro who is energetic and dorky, but studious. They are so sweet to one another, and they love correcting each other's English. For example, Antonio said thirteen instead of thirty, Alessandro corrected him, as if it was the proof that the younger sibling can be better than the older one.

But that is not the point of this story. At the end of class, we said goodbye and tried to leave. Alessandro got out of his chair and came up. He gave me a hug. He did not let me go. I told him I had to go back home. He would not let me go. He insisted, "Rimani qua!!!" (stay here) Not until his brother Antonio dragged him back to his chair was I able to leave the classroom.

My teaching partners told me that they were all jealous. We unfortunately did not get a photo of the 3-minute cute hug, but here instead is a photo of the test we wrote on numbers!
