As some of you may know, my host brother Andrea goes sailing every Sunday. Now, during the winter season, he has to go all the way to Civitavecchia (a famous port located 80 km outside Rome) instead of Lago Bolsena (which is only 15 minutes away). So, this morning, we drove for an hour to Civitavecchia.
I must say, there was nothing in Civitavecchia itself besides the port and the sea: no cafés, no restaurants. But my, my, the Tyrrhenian Sea was "bellissimo!" I ended up taking my jacket off because it got so hot. While waiting for Andrea to do his stuff with his sailing team/coach/club, my host parents and I walked along the shore, read our books, and simply enjoyed the sun and the breeze. It was such a wonderful day.
