So today, I went out for dinner with my friends. Because our go-to spot (La Spaghetteria) was packed for some reason, we decided to go to a small restaurant nearby instead. As we were struggling to order our menu to the waiter, a random woman (possibly in her 50s-60s) came up and started translating everything for us. Apparently, she is from Texas but somehow ended up here in Viterbo in the nineties. How crazy is that? Also, we realized how small Viterbo is during dinner. Just in an hour, we met 3 different groups of SYA kids and even one of our host parents near the restaurant!
Afterwards, we just walked around and saw so many people on the Corso Italia (a "mall" street). There were people selling goods and roasting chestnuts (for some reason, chestnuts are a big deal here). It was such a new scene; the center of Viterbo has never been this crowded before.
A side note: I got in touch with my host family's previous host student via Facebook - how cool is that?
