Paris Part 2: Tower, Arch, and Christmas

Man, today was such a productive and amazing day. After eating some eggs and toasts that we made ourselves, we left the house around noon. We walked to the Place de la Concorde, which is only like 5 minute walk from the house. We promised each other that we would go on the ferris wheel that is there!

Then, we walked up the Champs-Élysées and visited some shops. On the way, of course, we got ourselves some crêpes. At night, we came back to this avenue for the Christmas markets.

At the end of the Champs-Élysées is the Triumphal Arch (Arc de Triomphe). There were two inscriptions on the floor, one for the French Revolution and one for World War I. Also, there was a French flag of such magnitude I have never experienced.

Finally, we walked more and arrived at Trocadéro, from where we saw the famous Eiffel Tower! The view was gorgeous and there was not a lot of tourists (which was very nice). One of the men selling stuff came up to me and greeted me in Korean. I ignored him but was still impressed by how he guessed that I was Korean, not Chinese or Japanese. There was a carousel in front of the Eiffel Tower, so we decided to give it a ride (best decision ever!)

After a long day, we took a nap (at least I did) and decided to make popcorn for snack. It was a disaster! We poured too many popcorn kernels inside a tiny bowl, and we ended up using 4 giagantic plates to pour out the popcorn. Also, we locked one of the girls named Courtney because she caused so many troubles in the kitchen haha

For dinner, we split up. I ended up meeting my Parisian friend named Nathan. We were busy talking and catching up that we forgot how much we were walking to find a restaurant! After an hour or so, we walked into a random crêperie, and I ended up eating the best meal ever. It was my first time eating a crêpe that served as an actual meal. Accompanied by apple cider (with a hint of alcohol apparently), I ate a crêpe that had eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and meat inside.

On the way back, I realized that I walked VERY FAR from the Place de la Concorde, where I was supposed to meet everyone else after dinner. So I ran for 20 minutes (very rough). But I stopped along the way because every corner had something very beautiful to offer. I got to see the Notre Dame and La fontaine Saint-Michel.

After reuniting with the rest, I went back to the Champs-Elysées for the Christmas markets. We walked around, took pictures, ate cotton candies that were bigger than our faces, drank hot wine, and just had a great time. And of course, Margaret was booty-called again by an older guy. She said that she wanted "Chi-Chi" (which we think means churros) but he said, "Oh, yeah girl, you want my chi-chi?" and winked at her. It was really creepy haha

Anyway, it was such a fantastic day. But meanwhile, I need to sleep a lot for tomorrow. After walking for 3+ hours and running for half an hour, my feet are just dead...
