Sevilla Part 2: Maria Luisa Park and Metropol Parasol

Tired from yesterday, we woke up late, ate some toast (with olive oil and sugar, a typical breakfast menu in Spain), and took a bus to go to the center. We first visited Maria Luisa Park. There is a specific square called "Plaza de America" where all the pigeons hang out during the day. So I made a comment on how the Spaniards chose this name to compare the annyoing pigeons to Americans haha

From there, we went to Plaza de España, which is inside the park. I must say, the panoramic view was incredible, but I would like to visit this place again because today was a bit cloudy. Standing near the fountain, Fernando and I watched a clip from Star Wars that was shot in that same plaza!

Afterwards, we walked by the Cathedral, the shopping area, and eventually ended up at Metropol Parasol. For Fernando, the entrance was free (because he is a Sevilla citizen!) whereas it was 3 euros for me. The view the monument offered was quite great (despite the clouds). I could see every street of Sevilla from up there! Fernando pointed out tthat quite a few things of Sevilla (including the two bridges as well as the Parasol itself) were built for the 1992 EXPO. Having visited the Parasol, I understand why the citizens of Sevilla do not like it; the Parasol ruins the aesthetics of the city, in my opinion.

Throughout the day, I kept noticing the tropical-esque trees, golden carriages taking tourists to every corner of the city, and the colors of brick red and sapphire blue that highlight the city's affluence during the Colonial Era. Just walking around the city made me feel like I was in a completely different world.
